Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better known by her stage name of Ari Lennox, is an American singer and musician born in Washington, D.C., who was the first female to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. In October of 2016 Ari Lennox dropped her Pho EP. This was the moment that she was recognized. Her first album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox posted her music online in 2012 when she released the Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014, she released new music through the internet including Bound. On 21st of July 2015. Omen included her in Elephant Eyes' track"Sweat it Out.. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew at that time, wanted to have her create Rihanna references. Then, in December of 2008 it was announced that Rihanna had hired with Dreamville Records. The release album Revenge of the Dreamers II She was on the song Backseat along with Cozz. On the 21st of October in 2016, the EP Pho debuted. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track and also opened her own tour, the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She also appeared in 2018 on two songs alongside her labelmates EarthGang to Nothing but the Best. Also, she appeared on Bas in Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on 16 July 2018. A music video was then released in September. On the 9th of November the singer released two more singles, titled 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). On the 13th of November, two brand new singles called No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby then made an appearance on the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. The singer released the single in order to announce her debut album Creed II on 26 February 2019. This track, which was launched with a music video posted on YouTube February 20, 2019 has been viewed over three million times over the first seven days. In December 2018 the singer was a part of the From East Atlanta With Love Tour, which featured 6LACK.
